Shankar Venkitachalam

I am a second year graduate student in Computer Science at the UMass Amherst working primarily with Prof. Andrew McCallum and Pedram Rooshenas on the topic of Structured Prediction in NLP. My current research interests span the fields of Natural Language Understanding, Probabilistic Graphical Models and Deep Learning.

Before joining UMass, I worked as a machine learning engineer in the Multimedia Research Group at Snapdeal, Bangalore. Previously, I worked as a software developer at Adobe Systems India. I received my Bachelor's in Computer Science from National Institute of Technology Calicut in July 2012.

During summer 2018, I interned in the Data Science team at Adobe, San Jose.

I am actively looking for full time opportunities in the areas of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. You can have a look at my resume here.
